Quick question - while scrubbing the pool during slam process, should I be vacuuming? If so, I assume just vacuum and let it flow through the filter and back in through the return.. Or do I not vacuum at all, amd just stick to scrubbing? Thanks.

Scrub and vacuum. You need to keep the organic load as low as possible, as well as get the dead algae off the bottom as it falls out of the water. You can vac to the filter if you like.

Get it out of there. Otherwise it
a) clouds the water and delays "the water is clear"
b) wastes a lot of bleach trying to oxidize it
So vacuum it up as much as possible and backwash ( or wash) it away when the pressure gets high (that;s 25% over clean pressure)

Richard when you say get it out of there, would that translate to “vacuum to waste” for those of us with cartridge filters? Thank you!
No. Vacuum to filter. You probably don't have a multiport on a cartridge filter. Then wash it away when the pressure gets high (that;s 25% over clean pressure)
