After all was said and done, I ended up returning Intex Sand Filter 14" because it was overkill for our AGP (15x10x44, 2900 gal. / oval). The problem was we needed to run these black solar water heaters (Intex also) and didn't realize that the flow pressure was too strong and basically blew up the PVC solar water heaters..was scratching my head..I read the instructions..always a good thing right?.

That 14" sand pump was way too strong..the PVC solar water heaters couldn't handle it. I ended up re-attaching the original 1000 GPH unit and it was fine, but the warm water coming out (after going through TWO sets of the solar heating panels) was was a very low coming back into the pool.

Needless to say, it is getting warmer now and have completely detached the PVC solar heating mats and now the 1000 GPH is actually working better..right?

My question is I have some debris and stuff now on the bottom of the pool, will the 1000 GPH be able to run a pool vacuum? I have one but maybe the hose is too long and I'm not getting enough suction.

What are my options? I hate saying this but do I get a slightly stronger filter..maybe one that is 1500 GPH? Will a shorter vacuum hose provide a stronger suction with the 1000 GPH pump?

**I replaced the type A filter..man those suckers are hard to find with the current state..can you believe they sell them at Big Lots..lol..nearly cried*

Have you tried to vacuum with it yet? I run my manual vacuum on my 1.5hp pump without a problem so............

Well, it pays to read and watch YT videos..after removing all the air out of the vacuum hose the 1000 gph pump works great..surprised actually how well it works after i plugged up one of the outlets (I have 2). Noticed that after I run it for a few hours the water gets dirty in the filter..hopefully it will clear out after awhile. I'm getting pretty good with backwashing with this thing too.
