I was in the store whos name shall not be named (only getting reagent refills) and they had the new Polaris VRX iQ+ on display. The lady handed me a brochure and said, "look it even has lights!" lol

Well see how it is after some reviews come out. Looks like it has a pretty decent debris basket.

Hahaha that's funny, the guy at local pool store told me the same thing. I asked him, why do I need lights? He had no response.

This is the same unit, which will be sold at other dealers besides the one you were at. Looks like a nice unit. I am currently looking for a robot...do Polaris robots generally clean well?

I dont think that is a light...I think it is some sort of sensor that allows it to map out obstacles.

I have no idea about Robot cleaners, I am hoping someone on here knows.

Looks like this doesn't have a combination basket like the dolphin. So you will have to switch to a fine silt basket or a regular basket depending on conditions.

The big benefit looks to be the navigation like the Dolphin iO is supposed to have.

I am kind of torn between this model ant the Dolphin M600. This unit is on sale this weekend and next weekend (allowed to be sold below the MSRP). I may just buy one next weekend and then wait to see what rebates Dolphin has in May...would still be in the 14 day return period.

Where I live we get high winds that blow the desert sand into the pool. So I need fine filters

Well they have a fine silt filter available but you have to switch the filter to use with fine silt. It looks like the filters are much easier to clean than the Dolphin, but the dolphin has a combination filter which has a regular and ultra find stage.

I don't know yet. The polaris is appealing to me because it has a guided navigation method so it doesn't just go all over the place randomly. Also, I have read a few places that it can get onto the tanning ledge, while Dolphin robots can not.

The Dolphin has the more robust filter system, at the expense of being harder to clean fully. If the Dolphin iO were out, I would definately get that, but since it is not...

I just picked up a VRX iQ+ yesterday and so far I'm very impressed. It did a great job cleaning my pool, picked up a lot of leaves and dirt/debris left over from the construction last season. It even got almost my entire tanning ledge. It also seems line it does go in a straight line more than other robots which just go in whatever direction...so their claim of having better navigation is true. Overall very happy with the initial use. I bought it from Leslies pool...I don't usually like going there but none of the other local dealers would budge off of MSRP or match the sale price at Leslie's (all three claimed that the model they sell which is Alpha IQ+ is different, but we all know it is the same except the color).

That sounds nice.

Are you having any problems with the cable getting tangled?

No. I put the robot in the middle of the pool as the instructions recommend and I laid enough straight cable out for it to get to every corner of the pool. I didnt just throw the robot and the entire cable into the pool as the people who are having problems may have done.

This is after 3 hours. I've seen reviews on this newer model complaining about cord tangling
