So I’ve been wanting an Aquabot Rover robot vacuum for my above-ground pool but the reviews are so all over the place for the different models. Can anyone recommend a good model that is compatible with AGPs? My budget is no more than $400! Also, would it be dumb to buy a gently used one off eBay if they have a 30 day return policy? I have found some on there at great prices but I still don’t know which model to get! Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

UPDATE/SPOILER ALERT: I decided on the Aquabot Pool Rover Junior! If you scroll down a little in the comments, I posted some photos of her in action!!

Lil Kim is working right now!!! She is a dream come true! I loves her and when she dies I will get one just like her!

You can get extra filter bags from Amazon for very cheap. I have two bags so all I have to do is take her out (after she cools down INSIDE the pool for about 30 mins) and change bags and shake the dirty bag out and throw it in the washer. I try to not dry it in the dryer to help keep the elastic good.

Thank you so much!! I decided on the Junior based on your review and others I read on other sites. Plus it is on sale on Amazon right now and I didn’t want to miss out lol! She will be here on Tuesday! I’m so excited!! Did she come with a bag to get started or will I need to buy separately? I’m so excited!!!!!

She comes with a bag. You can make due with just one but it is easier to have another bag you can just swap out. Make sure to read the manual as there some little things like leaving it in the pool after it does it's run to cool off the motor. I also made a pick up hook as I have always been told to NOT pull ANYTHING by it's cord. I will take and share a pic with you later. It was easy to make with PVC.

I hope you'll add your picture to this thread. I was thinking I need to figure out a hook to help with robot retrieval this year. Of course, when it ends the cycle in the middle of the pool, no hook is really going to help without a nice long extension to get to the handle. Much ? to do.

Here is the hook I made. I made sure it was long enough to reach the bottom. Note how the end is angled up.

Here is a pic of it from the side.

Easy to make. I do have to pull on the cord if the cleaner stops away from the walls but I go slow and easy. Once I get it to the wall I use the hook to make sure I am pulling on the cord as little as I can.

Have you thrown her in yet? She will tell you her name after a time of two. Mine was named by @JoyfulNoise when I got her and it stuck!

Not yet! It’s been super rainy and nasty so I’m waiting til this weekend when it’s supposed to be sunny (cold, though blaaaah!) so it can get all the dirt and whatever crud gets into the pool from the heavy rainfall. How do worms get in an above ground pool anyways?! I don’t have a pool deck yet lol are they falling from the sky?! ????
