Home Warranty - Spa Jet Pump

I am surprised that motor is legal in California. Unless they call this a 'booster' pump?
That rule only applies to the main circulation pump. Feature and accessory pumps don't apply. Furthermore no one inspects these installations unles they are actually permitted like when the pool was built.

Same goes for heaters. We are supposed to use the low Nox versions butt I try to avoid them whenever possible.

Hopefully this ordeal shows you that the home warranties are a joke. I've had the first years home warranty with the purchase of each of my homes, I've filed four claims and not one of them was honored. I had a service technician say my installation of a pool heater was void because it was a quarter inch too close to my house...5-3/4" vs 6" apparently makes a lot of difference when the internal bypass is bad.

Wow.. that's insane... I think I would have said "Look there's a bird!" and pushed the heater out when he glanced away. pfft

When I had a home warranty, I filed four claims and had them all honored.. (let's see got an Intermatic timer for the pool, a fan/light fixture, toilet plumbing) the only one I had to fight for was a roof leak where they changed their mind on the definition of a "roof" after the service tech that they sent to inspect it had already approved the repair.
