Winter NON-safety cover for IG with kids and dogs...

When was your pool decking poured? When did they drill the holes for the loop loc inserts? Did they have any concerns about concrete curing between those two actions? How many days between concrete decking being poured and safety cover being put in place?

Just looked back through my threads - it was 3 weeks exactly from the deck being poured to the anchor drilling. Good question - I didn't even think about that! I *think* they say 30 days for full curing? Let's hope we got lucky somehow, as the damage is done..

I do think the PB has legitimate concerns about staining. There are several threads on here with the same issues. However I think the tarp and bags will make the same discolorations only they might look a bit more uniform. The organic dirt that builds up under the bags will most likely stain as well and there is a UV factor that could show a discoloration from covered to non covered.

I don't even know how/what/when to say about this cover anymore. LOL! But I think you're right, Rich. And that's why the PB covered up more than he needed to the first saw cut. To perhaps make the discoloration more uniform.

My concrete was sealed today with a sealing and curing agent. 11 days after coping was poured and 9 days after decking was poured. Concrete guy told the pool builder to not drill anchors or put on mesh cover for an additional 21 days. Which puts the closing of my pool on Nov. 18. Hoping for additional mild weather. Concrete guy wants to allow the stamped concrete to cure for color reasons before closing. Researched many things for pool install but did not see this one coming.

Would love to see a pic of your stamped! We would have loved to do that, but after adding an extra 5k of concrete alone it was just out of the budget. So we technically didn't have a sealant applied. Not sure if that makes a difference? Who knows!

Here is a close up picture. We selected ash color with dark grey release. I’m not sure what color it is but We like it.

24 days since my stamped concrete has been poured. 13 days since a cure/seal was applied. We have been having freezing temperatures here in southwest Ohio the last week during the night. I have been running the pump 24 hours a day. Next week from Tuesday to Thursday we could potentially not reach above freezing temperatures for 60 hours. They are calling for a record low of 14 degrees on Tuesday night. I texted my PB yesterday about the cold front coming and he said keep the pump running, but if I wanted to close it out and Install the safety cover he could do it today. Do I wait another week per the concrete guy or close it and be done with it. I blinked! I said I close it.
