Hubby pulled up stand pipe and laterals...

Help. MPV was stuck on stand pipe and hubby pulled the stand and laterals out of the sand. Our laterals are not the ball kind, so not sure how to take those off to remove. Can we just leave the pipe sticking out of the filter top resting on top of the sand, and cover til spring, then tackle it? AND I am assuming the fix process is vaccing the sand, rinsing the laterals, removing the rest of the sand, then refilling? Help me oh wise ones. And the pool year was going so good. lol... Can I just add we tried a stinkin' pipe wrench on the stand pipe and it's not budging...

Those laterals unscrew from the main assembly allowing you to lift the stand pipe up and out. Reverse it to assemble.

Using a pipe wrench on a stand pipe is just begging to break something. Please go slowly and ask for help at every juncture. we'll all pitch in if you let us.
