Just got my TF-100, help me out

Pool has been a bit more green than what I would have liked. I ordered my TF-100 last week and have been adding 1 gallon of 10% in front of the return jets daily to keep the FC up. A Poolmaster 22260 kit was used daily to ensure FC was above 5. The numbers above are what I pulled from the pool today. I have been scrubbing the pool manually once or twice a day and have noticed it starting to get a little more clean. The pool brush can be seen about 8 feet down before I stir up the algae. The pool had been almost sparkling but was used heavily for two weekends with kid parties and then we had a bit of rain and organic material blown in the pool from Hurricane Dorian and we lost power for two days. The algae bloomed with a vengeance.

It seems easier for everyone to read but probably only because we are so used to it.

You need to SLAM your pool. That's what we teach to get rid of your algae and get the pool crystal clear. Please read the SLAM article in Pool School and start that process. We'll help you every step but, a BIG caution, follow the article exactly......no diverting.

Brushed, vacuumed, added 180oz 10%. Going to do another reading here in an hour to see the FC level after adding LC.

Can I not do the TA and CH tests every reading? I just don't want to eat up through my reagents if it's not needed.

Any benefit of adding a little DE to my sand filter right now?

No need to do any test but FC during the SLAM Process.

If your pool water is blue and cloudy and your FC consumption each day is not very high, then DE in your sand filter is OK. You will need to babysit it as the pressure may rise very quickly.

That's what I'm doing. Took the clock trippers off of the pool pump clock.

So I'm getting my pH to 7.2 but then it bumps up over night. I wasn't able to vacuum the deep end due to my daughter being sick today and her having to stay at home with me. Could a slight amount of organic material cause it to bump up a bit?

Also, what flow setting should I set my Automatic Chlorinator? LC is all I will ever be using from now on out unless I go out on an extended holiday. There seems to be a lot of gurgling when I set the flow valve to OFF or wide open. Are the air bubbles in the return jets a direct translation of this gurgle? I have the lid on the chlorinator on pretty snug. I will have to look at it tomorrow to ensure the gasket is still in the lid.

PH has nothing to do with the little organics you speak of. chlorinator should not be used during slam. Keep slaming untill you attain the 3 criterias

I cannot take my chlorinator out of line. If there are no pucks in there would one leave it at off? Still plenty of gurgling in there which I think is attributing to the bubbles coming out from the return jets.

Lower your pH to 7.2. Raise your FC to 12 ppm. Test nothing but FC until you pass the three criteria. Test FC and add liquid chlorine 3-4 times per day.
