Narrowing down PebbleTec color from 4

This was the reason for my warning against abalone -

Abalone Shell Chips Causing Brown Stains in Diamond Brite Plaster-

I have a plaster problem

There have been random instances of abalone shells causing brown stains in lighter colored plaster. Abalone is a natural product and cause staining if organic compounds from the shell leaches into the plaster. It seems that there are some high-quality abalone products out there (pre-washed and certified for use in pools) and cheap abalone products. The cheap ones are implicated as the culprit. If you do wish to use abalone, I would sit down with the plaster applicator and share this info with them and ask if they guarantee that they will honor their warranty and replace the plaster if the abalone causes problems.

A better alternative (but likely more expensive than abalone) would be to use clear glass beads to add sparkle. Glass is mostly inert with respect to pool water.

That is an excellent point about the glass versus abalone, Matt. (We used Pebble Tec and their abalone product so it comes with their warranty so I feel confident that if we have problems they will be addressed.)

We have been at a stalled progression for about 3-4 weeks. We had some elevation issue we need to solve(adding sitting walls for retaining) and I believe we are waiting on coping material. Beige Travertine. In the meantime, we went to see another pool from our PB that has just put in Tahoe blue pebbletec. Its a gorgeous pool, but much too green for our taste. I'm thinking we almost don't want any green. Back to Carribbean Blue, Tropical Breeze and blue Lagoon.

My two cents: It sounds like you already threw out the darkest color...but something attracted you to it in the first place...which tells me that Blue Lagoon might be too light for your liking. Looking at the samples, Caribbean Blue has a lot of yellow/golden pebbles which will contribute to a green color, so if you don't like Tahoe blue, I think Caribbean blue would probably be too green for you too.

Blue Lagoon is the bluest, but also the lightest of those three. Tropical Breeze is bluer than Caribbean blue. So if you want darker, Tropical Breeze is the one. If lighter is okay and blue is more important, Blue Lagoon.

Check out youtube maybe? Here's a Tropical Breeze: Willowbend, Tropical Breeze Pebble Tec, Spa with spillover - YouTube and here's a Blue Lagoon: Marietta Swimming Pool - YouTube and a Caribbean Blue: Pebble Tec Carribean Blue Waterfall stonewall durango bullnose coping pool tile - YouTube

Our first pic was PebbleTec Midnight Blue, but ultimately we felt that it was too dark..but it seemed like just about the bluest we could get with the pebbletec offerings.

Well, it turns out the new pool I went to look at was really green because the water was green that was put in. Went back today and it was much, much more blue. My PB said the Tropical breeze would be too dark for me and he also said he thought the blue Lagoon was that windex blue that I would like. I believe I have successfully narrowed it down to Tahoe blue or Caribbean blue. I did read either here or somewhere that some colors are an upgrade? My PB is not charging extra for any color. Of course that makes me want to get the upgraded color just because I can but want actually makes the color upgraded if still in Pebble TEC?
