To have pb install heater or do it later

Hi All, we are in the process of getting pb quotes for a in ground vinyl pool and we know the builder we are going to use. The only problem I see is the pricing for the Hayward 350 natural gas heater. They want 4500.00 for it and I can buy it for 1800.00 and my plumber can hook it up for 500.00. Is there more to hooking up a heater then I realize or is it simply running some extra pvc.

How will you be chlorinating your pool?

Make provisions on your equipment pad to place the heater, you need appropriate electrical and gas hookups, and see that the PVC coming out if your filter is easily accessible.

If you have an in line chlorinator you must have a check valve between the heater and the chlorinator.

A certified plumber, the line is no more then 15 ft.

Well, if your plumber friend is experienced with heater installs, you can save an instant $2000. Just be aware that it might impact your warranty (for what they are worth).
