New 10k gallon AGP with SWCG

Just finished putting up our new 21' AGP and filling with about 10k gallons of water (still need to cut in return and skimmer after work today). Been reading a lot but not entirely sure how to start balancing the water. I believe I need to add the salt first, let it dissolve over 24 hours with pump running. Have Hayward 40k cell so will bring salt to 3200ppm.

After that I'm not sure where to go. I have the Taylor 2006-C and K-1766 test kits with extra bottle of CYA reagent.

Thanks for any advice! We are hoping to get the pool balanced this week so we can use it!

First step is to get 3 ppm FC in the water. Then add 40 ppm CYA using the sock method. Maintain FC based on FC/CYA Levels using liquid chlorine. During all this, get the salt in the water. Once your first dose of CYA is fully dissolved, 24 hours later test the CYA. Then add enough to get to 70 ppm CYA. Maintain FC based on that. Start your SWCG and start by having it create enough chlorine each day to add 4 ppm FC to the pool. Then adjust as necessary.

Test your fill water for pH, TA, and CH. Monitor and adjust pH in the pool water as necessary.

You can use the pool during this entire process.

Ok, thanks for info. So it sounds like liquid chlorine and salt initially, then CYA, then CYA/FC.

Can pH, TA, and CH be adjusted while the above is going on, or should it be once the above is balanced and SWCG is turned on?

As stated, pH needs to be tested and adjusted. CH does not matter in a vinyl pool. TA needs to be tested so you can enter the value in Poolmath. As long as it is over 50 ppm, no direct action needed.
