Has anyone installed one of the DIY fences around their pool? I have a 6 month old boy, so my wife is wanting to look into installing a fence before next pool season. I have been looking at the DIY fence, and it looks fairly straightforward. My only concern is drilling holes 4" into the concrete while missing the rebar.

We installed the Pool Fence DIY around our pool and also bought the drilling brace to make sure the drill went in straight and the right depth. The brace was expensive and pretty much useless once we were done, but it was worth it. It wasn’t hard to install and it’s still in prefect shape after 3 years.

That's the one I was looking at. You do anything to account for rebar, or pretty much just drill and hope?

Change from a concrete bit to a metal bit and keep drilling when you hit rebar. Have a few bits to keep the job moving.

You can rent the drilling guide from Pool Fence DIY directly for $150 or so and when you send it back they will give you a full refund. FYI.
I just installed ours last month and only ran into rebar or something once, 37 total holes. Make sure to get a ROTARY hammer drill and save yourself a day and a half of work. 37 holes took me about 3.5 hours in total.
I really like the look and am impress with how sturdy this fence ended up being.
