when i fired up my pool this year I had a horribile vibration sound coming from the heater. At first I thought it was the heater however I noticed the water in pipe is shaking pretty bad that comes out of the jacuzzi filter and feeds the heater.... still thought it might be the heater "perhaps a valve blocking water flow" however when I grabbed the lever on top of the sand filter and applied a little pressure down the noise totally stopped. Wondering if anybody has any experience with that.... Do I have a faulty sand filter or is it the heater...

are you referring to the valve on top of the filter?
I was thinking about ordering a new valve and getting some new sand.. the sand hasnt been changed in a while....
the only thing that has me concerned is finding the right parts for this filter..
everything I see online is made by calvin... my filter and valve was made by cantar
also having a hard time finding replacement parts for the inside if needed..
My wife is telling me to just buy a new one... However really dont want to spend the money unless I have to
Are Calvin and Cantar parts interchangable
it is the correct model number just a different manufacturer

James can help on the valve.
The sand should not need replacing unless you have been using Floc and Clarifier and circulating it through the filter. Sand is a million years old all ready. The short time it has been in your filter is insignificant.
It may need a deep cleaning if that has never been done. See Deep Cleaning a Sand Filter

I think that it's a Jacuzzi filter. Inyo pools should be able to help you with any parts that you need.

Mostly, you just need to clean and lubricate the stem O-ring where the diverter stem goes through the multiport lid.
