Adding Borates and converting to SWG, which should I do first?

Hello Folks!

I have just plumbed in a used Aqua-Rite SWG and GLX-CELL-3-W that I got as part of my big equipment purchase last year (Filter, Pump, SWG and two cells for only $380)

I also just got the Borates that I purchased and want to get them added as well.

My current plan is to add the Salt and get the SWG running correctly FIRST and then add the Borates. Is that the correct order or would doing the borates first be beneficial?

TFP recommends that adding borates is only done after a full season of understanding your pool water chemistry and its needs.

Of course, it is up to you. Be sure your TA is low and your pH is in range before you add the boric acid. Once you do it, adjusting those can be problematic.

Gotcha, thanks! I'll go ahead with the SWG addition and then consider adding Borates after I've got a good grip on how things are going with it.
