Took advantage of the 4 case price at HD today...dated 19 119 so super fresh. This is awesome for now because temps have been in the 70s as highs. They store it outside...shaded, but in a month or two it's gonna be really hot out there. Wish they stored this stuff inside. $3 per gallon for 10% can't be beat in my neck of the woods.

Walmart sells 10 percent in the pool section. Couldn’t really find anything fresh but I didn’t have an issue with purity according to pool math. Stored indoors as well.
No Atwoods close to me...Looks like HD for the next month or so, then Wal Mart....I'm having a hard time finding the Wal Mart 2 packs...they are typically $6.44 for two , as opposed to 3.64 for one.
I checked 2 Walmarts and all dates code are in 18 300~, I have another big one close by but if they dont have the new stuff I am stuck with 6% at 2.99 a gallon?
Anyone has any good leads for reasonable bleach prices around Northern VA,

Someone mentioned to me that Atwoods carries 10% pool chlorine for under $3, I haven’t went to check since I have so much bleach but maybe worth a look if you have one?
Lowe’s has pool chlorine but in my store it dated back to 2017 and was stored outside in the sun so i’m pretty sure it was expensive bottles of water

I just picked up 5 gallons at my local Leslie's. 8.88 for two 2.5 gal jugs, punch card buy 10 get one free if I remember correctly. Their site says concentration at 12-15%. It's a pain dealing with the big jugs but seems the price is good.
I don't see it on their website, but I can call or check a local store to see if they carry liquid chlorine
Unfortunately, Walmart’s (basically all brands @ all & all local stores) bleach is now only 6%. For the cost, trouble of hauling & bottles to haul to recycling, buying the actual pool Chlorine makes more sense.

Cases of 4 true 128 oz. gallons of 12.5% liquid chlorine cost $11.96. That's 40 gallons (10.86 cases, but I rounded down for tax) for $100, $2.50/gal. or 15.6 cents per oz., which is florescent green on the Price per Oz. calculator site.
It's a no-brainer if you have the disposable means.

They have the liquid chlorine at $2.99 all year (at least all swimming season)... so I'm in no rush to buy a ton and just leave it in the hot garage. They have a good selection of other pool stuff for cheap as well... and lawn care stuff too for great prices. Love this store.

I've noticed Leslies always gives a range, and I believe it is over quoted (10-12 should be considered max 10, 12-15 should be considered max 12).
I actually have the speculation that what they quote as "12%-15%" in stock is actually 10% on the box. I've seen the site stating the 12-15 but the stores seem to never have anything over 10% when you have the box in-hand.
Generally, I can find the exact same product elsewhere for less. Leslies is notorious for being over priced. The one thing you can generally count on with them though is that they usually move enough product through their business accounts (pool cleaning companies) that I've never seen anything but "fresh" stock in store (don't have to worry about "last season's chlorine").

After I changed the media in the filter tank at the old house following a BQ conversion, I've found myself not thinking twice about skipping Leslie's altogether. It seems that they, and Namco for that matter, have ridiculous overhead that they just pass on to customers. I used to be a frequent customer at Namco and got a $25 coupon e-mail for every $300 spent. I haven't got one of those in almost four years.
What box are you talking about, they are filling jugs out of probably over a 1K gal tank. Overpriced compared to what? At Ace you are paying about 3.50 a gallon, I paid 1.89 and that's with tax. I have seen some crazy expensive bagged shock, pool tools etc. You are right about it should be fresh though; I've seen over 100 gallons leave the place in 20 mins. I'll ask them and pinch a penny right down the road what their concentration is; probably getting fills from the same contractor.
5/24 Edit- I went by both Pinch a Penny and Leslies's today. PaP maintains that is at 10.5%, Leslie's maintains that it is at 10%. I don't know if I can believe what Leslie's person is telling me though; they also state that Florida is the only state that bulk chlorine can be bought; that liquid chlorine is "bad" for pools since it contains salt water; and that the myriad of granules is the better choice. I wasn't getting into it with them.

North of DFW there are now 2 PinchaPenny locations. One in Plano and one in McKinney. They sell liquid chlorine in refillable 2.5 g jugs. I paid about $3.50 per g
I'm probably too late for you, but in Austin I've been going to HEB for 121 oz of 8.25% at $2.59, since Walmart lowered their laundry bleach to %6. Walmart does sometimes have full-gallon two-packs of 10% which is on par with HEB, but it is usually sold out. I haven't tried Austin pools stores in a while. I found if they even had chlorine it was ancient, because they don't believe in using it. People in Houston and Dallas have better options.
