Your equipment is almost the same as mine. I am very happy with it. For the FS1400 do NOT use the mineral cartridge. Leave the blank-out plate in it and make sure your startup guys knows this. In fact, grab the mineral cartridge out of your pile of pool stuff and hide it (seriously). For the light, is that Jandy? If not just make sure it is fully compatible so you can change colors with your phone. I have the Jandy WaterColors lights and love them. I would lose the in-floor cleaning. I have that same robot and it does a fantastic job! Set it and come back in 4 hours and the pool is nears spotless. My pool is deeper than yours. Someone will come along and speak to that but 3 feet is a little shallow.

Welcome aboard!

Thank you PoolGate I will check on lights and wait for reply’s on depth of pool.

Does anyone have a average time difference (I realize depending on size of pool will vary) it takes to heat a pool with the infloor cleaning system vs not having it?

Heat a pool? There should be no difference in heating with an in-floor system. I would suggest you get deep heat returns though. I got this on mine it is 3 returns along the bottom of the pool to aid in convection heating (mix the water up). Cost was like $500 additional from my PB for the extra plumbing.

Not sure about the 4-7-4 depends what it is for. 7 feet in the middle means no one will be able to stand in that section. Do a search on "sports pool" to see what people do with what you suggest. You don't want a diving board? We love our 9 foot deep end depth and board.

Welcome to TFP!

We have a play pool/sport pool in texas. It is 3-1/2-5-4. 3-1/2 is too shallow. 6' is too shallow to dive and too deep to stand up and play volleyball. 4-5-4 is ideal for us. Our pool we just bought in Florida is 3' sloping to 6-1/2' and it is only good for about 1/3 in the middle in the 4'-5' zone. No volleyball in that pool, half of folks are in waist deep water and the other half are treading water. LOL Hold a tape measure up to everyone to see where 3', 3-1/2' and 4', 5' and 6' measure up on people.

Thank you. Thats a great idea. We have just been told that the in-floor circulates the heat faster. Your idea would basically do the same thing.

Hmmm... Thanks for walking me through this. We are not going to do a diving board, and our only kiddo is 16. I our pools majority use will be volleyball and lounging. I will continue thinking on this.

Make sure the builder just makes these flush to the bottom or else your robot will have to maneuver over them. Mine are totally flush.

For reference, we are in OKC (on acreage with plenty of trees and blowing debris as well) and do not have a IFCS....nor would I want one. I have a robot and it's been doing a pretty darn good job of keeping the pool clean with running it every other day or so. As far as heating goes, I used mine for the first time last Saturday and it averaged about 2.8 degrees an hour for heating. I started in the AM at 55'ish degree and was at 84 degrees 10 hours later (the high that day was about 70).

Thank you HeyEng I can live with that!

We have finally Started! I have started the timeline on post 1. They feel pretty confident (pending weather) they can get the pool and pavers done in 6-8 weeks. After watching the pool builds on here I find that unlikely but we will see :)

Exciting! They could build the pool in 2 weeks if they had all the subs ready to go and proper scheduling. Hopefully your pool doesn't sit too long between phases.

Congrats!!! I look forward to following along! Our neighbor is having a Caviness pool put in and while they were doing pretty well, they have come to a complete stop. There hasn't been any action in over 3 weeks after putting the coping down. Hopefully, your builder sticks to the build time.

I see your PB runs around in a $80K super duty truck...and I bet it's all tricked out. :) Something about Oklahoma contractors...they LOVE their big, expensive trucks!

LET THE MUD BEGIN!!!

I would not even bother looking at any kind of time line. What I have people with kids do is list the to do list in the order it is done. They can check off each one as it happens. Not as much disappointment that way.
