Quick Electrical Question - Conduit

Where are you located? I often buy heavier thhn/thxn on Ebay there are a few wholesale sellers that are cheaper than my local supply house and they have 25foot increments. Many sources available online nowadays.
As for the Hayward panel I saw you mention the t15 bundle with aaquaplus. The automation and subpanel features are very nice it's worth it in the end I'm glad I went that route over timers

I am in Ontario, Canada. I am near the border so I do get stuff shipped to US side and pick up. I will check out eBay, thanks.

E: Also, the AQR15 and the Aquaplus are a fair bit cheaper in the US but supposedly they are tracked by serial number and if you buy a US-sold Hayward SWG and bring it and install it in Canada, your warranty is void. So I am stuck paying the higher price for the exact same item - yay!

Wont matter the warranty isn't the same for a DIY job. I think its 3 yrs you wont have problems til after the warranty expires and even then the salt cells go bad and that's the end of it you just replace it. Personally I would go with cheapest price you are already saving alot doing it yourself

I am reading that a few places now too - 1 year warranty on DIY/self-installs. My concern was more the main board/display going bad but I also wouldn't expect that in the 1st year. So if I likely wouldn't utilize the warranty anyways (given 1 year and low chance of issues), I might as well buy wherever I can get cheapest. There are a couple GoldLine AquaRite with 40k cells for sale NIB locally I would also save a lot buying. Hmmm, decisions...

That's good if your not sure of your skills but an electrician qont be able to warranty the Hayward either. Only their authorized network of ppl can do the work. I would get what you can cheap and the automation portion is nice to run the cell trust me on that

Nick, one of the reasons I chose Circupool is they offer the same warranty to DIYer's as the professional installer. I was not able to find a major manufacturer that would do this. One major manufacturer gives zero warranty if you DIY or buy online. It's more important than ever to read the fine print!

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I am competent with wiring (re-wired my entire basement, replaced main house fuse panel with breaker panel, run electrical to garage panel, etc.). I was hoping to keep the warranty but at the cost of paying someone to do the install, I can buy all the components again should they (hopefully not) fail.

We don't plan to order the pool and equipment until May (unless some amazing deals come along), so I have time to figure it out. I would rather go with the AquaPlus/Prologic if I can swing it and find a good deal on the panel itself and 6 or 8 AWG THWN (not cheap here in Canada and hard to find by the foot).

@Bosley You're in Canada too? Where are you buying your Aquaplus from (or where did if you already have)?

The cheapest I can find for the Aquaplus with 40k T-Cell is Amazon.ca for $1900 CAD. For the AQR15 with 40k T-Cell would be $1590 from Pool Supplies Canada.

From a US pool site, I could get the AQR15 with 40k T-Cell for $1165 or the Aquaplus with 40k T-Cell for $1520.

I wonder if I would have any warranty issues if I ordered from a US site for use in Canada?

Pay exchange and duty and you save what? $10? Not worth it.

Those prices are all in CAD and without tax. The same 13% HST would apply to all (have never had to pay duty when picking stuff up yet). ~$400 CAD savings on each and typically I will gas up my truck and the savings in that pays the fuel for the trip. ~2 hours of my time for $400 is worth it, but I have to contemplate the potential warranty issues...
