Help me choose a sand filter

My sand filter is the most set & forget thing on my pool, not counting the pump.

I'm one of the few that has Zeolite on my sand filter. This is what the PS might have thought off as alternate type of sand. I have been using it and quite happy with the results. Just make sure you don't exceed the flow rate for the quantity of Zeolite.

I've had both sand and cartridge and I can't see any visible difference in the quality of the water. I plan to go back to sand for the ease of maintenance with the next few years.

And ive heard this alot is one of my reasons to try out the sand filter. On the other hand sometimes when i get frustrated with something i start throwing money at it (not rich btw) replacing this and that. In the end i usually end up happy.
