Finalizing Plans-would love input!

I would love any input you may have on our preliminary pool plans! We may change the diving board to a jumping rock (to save on insurance premiums and possibly get away with 7' foot depth instead of 8' therefore giving us a larger shallow end area). Is a 9' tanning ledge too small? Too big? Again, we want as much shallow area as possible! Thanks! Anything catch your eye? What would you change or add?

What do you see happening on the shelf? Chairs? Loungers? small kids playing? adults chilling? How deep are you starting your shallow end?

Will your insurance company allow a diving board? That is the main question.

Loving what you go going on there. Your situation sounds similar to mine. I'm thinking about not doing deep end/diving, but have a jumping stone and ~6.5' depth just around the stone. Our terrain (a slope on solid rock), wanting as much walkable/usable pool area, plus hoping to save a bit of money is driving this decision. I need to be able to build a small pool pavilion to gain some much needed outdoor living space. As far as the sun shelf, if you want lounge chairs on the shelf, it might be tight, especially since that is your entry as well. Are you considering putting in an umbrella sleeve? It might be fine for just a shallow area for kids to hang, or a chair or two (those small plastic Adirondack types). I want a sun shelf too, but I am thinking about having it raised with a spillover, so separate from the entry area. Are you set on getting the integrated spa?

All of the above regarding the shelf. We'd definitely like to have loungers on the shelf and/or adults chilling and/or kids playing. Our current insurance company does not cover diving boards but we have found two that will but of course our premiums will double.

Yes, pretty set on the spa. You shelf that is separate and has spillover sounds awesome. I would love to see a picture of that.

What what you do is use two large towels for each loungers you might want to have. So 4 towels=2 loungers. Lay them out like you would want them in on your shelf. How big does it need to be to be able to walk by them to get in to the pool? Use that as your guide as to how big the shelf needs to be.

I don't have a sspecific design yet, but if you Google tanning ledge and scroll through images, you will see lots of examples. Could do sheer descent or water cascading off.
I'm not sure how much more $ for construction of it outside vs inside pool, but it will of course cost more.
I'm considering having it as one of my main water features and doing away with a spillover spa. Dolla bills yo!
