Not sure Kim. We have cows and she learned Moo right off the bat so I think it just transferred. I don’t however look like my cows lol. She is in my avatar and a gorgeous child in every way! It is fun to hear how kids come up with stuff like grandparent names!

How much you want to bet her first memory of you is you holding her showing her the cows and you saying "Cows go Mooo. What do cows say?" She of course says "MOO!". You smile, laugh, and tell her good job! All of that equals you being Moo!

Awesome Kim. You are probably right!

One last pic of the night. The gravel truck just brought one last load. Wonder if we have enough??

BIG progress!!!! SWEET!!

So how much land do you two have? Do you both own all of it or is it split into lots for each house? Do you share are driveway from the road to her house then it is yours up to your house?

Her house-are those windows on the front room? Man I would love either one of those houses!!!

It’s my farm almost 200 acres. That is a big front porch and is the gable. The pavilion we are going to build at the pool will match although not so big. We have one driveway that is a big circle but the rocks are taking up a big part of it for now!

It is truly heaven on earth! We sit about a third of a mile back from the road and not a soul can see us unless they drive down that long driveway.

Our current dilemma is how to keep chickens Guineas turkeys ducks and dogs off and out of the pool until we get our fence up. It will have an auto cover on it but I don’t want their claws on it.
So we’ve been doing some brainstorming. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

My son in law and our farm hand will build the fence and have it up quickly but it will take a few days!

The permanent fence around pool will be a picket 5 ft high with points instead of dog ear so birds won’t roost and poop. We will space the pickets so the chickens et al cannot fit between to gain entry. Height is set so our Belgian malanois’ (3) and GSD won’t just easily clear it without touching it. They can certainly go over it but would be more discouraged with the points. The Great Pyrenees won’t even try.

Thank you for sharing the photos. My build is supposed to begin on Monday, and seeing this, has created the anticipation for this to begin, so excited to see. I must say that seems like an unusual amount of rock needed. I have a fenced yard and and honestly don’t know where we would put all of that plus the dirt from the initial dig.
I am very excited for you and your family.

Alrighty then.

Here is Alice my GSD

These dogs are protection and agility trained and awesome to have as part of our families.

I don’t have any of the Pyrenees that I could find easily. They are our livestock guardians.

JMadden I wish I could have your dirt. We are going to need several triaxle loads. Also the rock is for the backfill and I’m putting 12 feet on concrete around the pool. It will be used for that also. I learned a long time ago not to skimp on my pool deck. And because we do have the space they could bring it all at once instead of driving back and forth!

As I sit here and ponder my pool I’m wondering how often does one add salt to the pool? This is my first swg and PB will add initial salt but how often does that need to be replaced?

Thanks for the pics of the doggies! All look VERY happy! What is it with dogs and picnic tables? They just LOVE to sit on them! LOL

Temp fence-step in fence posts with cheap chicken wire or orange constr. fencing wrapped around it or any wire you have hanging around the farm.

Salt additions- I am not really sure how often you will be adding it but think it is not often. I will ask someone who has a salt pool to step in. If anyone else knows shout it out!
