Question about Stonescapes mini pebble

Hi new member here from SoCal. Trying to decide on a color for our pool looking at Tropics blue or Aquaq white or Aqua blue. The pool is from 3.5' to 7" deep and gets full sun pretty much all day. I don't want any green in my water color but every picture looks different when you look at them. Also in your opinions does adding Puerto Rico blend or abalone shells really make a difference.
Thanks for the help

HI! and welcome to TFP! Where are you in your build so far? How far from plaster?

I love all of those colors! So pretty! Have you asked your PB if they have any pools finished in any of those colors you can go look at? Most people love to show off their pools.

Adding different and more pebbles will make a big difference in the bling and color. The abalone shells can make a pool really shine if they are handcast over the plaster. Some people add extra to the steps/shelves then put the rest through out the pool.

We just resurfaced our pool with Stonescapes Midnight Blue Mini Pebble w/abalone. Love the abalone but be aware the distribution will not be 100% uniform. In my mind it adds to the more natural look. Be aware that almost ALL new pools will have a tinge of green at startup so don't panic!

Hi Fire! Welcome.

Agreed with KK... adding different elements will definitely affect any look you're going for. We have StoneScapes Aqua Blue mini. It is, indeed, an "aqua" color - a very slight tinge of green to the light blue color, but that's what we were going for. Also, if it were in our budget, I would have opted for the Puerto Rico blend. Nevertheless, we love our final result. It's not like we're outside comparing our pool side-by-side with our neighbors' to see whose has more bling. Besides, thanks to TFP, sparkle is just a little baking soda and borax away!!

I just finished up a pool with StoneScapes Tahoe Blue (see my build thread). There is a bit of green in the Tahoe Blue, so I'd stay away from that if you want 0 green (it's more a teal color TBH.) I've seen Tropics Blue and Aqua Blue and Aqua Blue is definitely the "blue-er" of the two. Aqua Blue was our second choice.

I also have abalone shells and glass beads in mine - I think the abalone is worth it, adds a really cool sparkle to the finish. The glass is visible, but I'm not sure it really changes the look much.

Hope this helps!

I went with tropics blue with TONS of beads and shells and I love it. I have zero green and my depth profile is the same. I would tell you to stay away from the gold beads in Puerto Rico blend because that can cause some green tint. In my pool I just did a blue blend bead with clear beads and it came out really nice
Build thread in signature. If you have the budget for shells DO THEM lol
See Kim for more bling tips :)
