Hello,
I would like to remove my Nature2 cartridge after hearing the multitude of negative comments. I bought the house in March, and have ignored this feature thus far. I have been using the BBB method with excellent results. I do not know who installed the Nature2 cartridge- I assume the previous owners who had the pool company install a new sand filter and pump in 2014. The Nature2 cartridge seems like it screws down into the housing, so it seems it is not as simple as unscrewing it.
From what I understand (could be wrong) some people use trichlor tablets in what used to be a Nature2 setup with good results when they are away from home. How would one accomplish this? I would like to do this if possible. My CYA is at around 30, so I do not think the tablets would pose a threat when used sparingly.
To completely remove it, I think I would need to install a new section of PVC between the filter and return lines.
Please let me know what I should do.
Thanks!
Vinnie
