Photobucket has disabled third party hosting

Thanks, I'm glad to know my hostages are free and safe on my phone. But sadly, their memory no longer exists on all my posts and threads.

This weekend, I'll play with moving them to the TFP gallery. I only used pb for pool photos anyway.

is there any reason not to use Tapatalk? I do EVERYTHING on my phone and use it for the forum. Seems pretty easy to post a picture - just like in a text message and you can select size.
BTW, that is a random picture from a catamaran race at south padre

Tapatalk does make it easy to post pictures....but....the TFP Illuminati are not huge fans of Tapatalk as it has caused some serious grief over the years. It may not remain in the forums good graces for long and if TFP can come up with an in-house mobile solution, Tapatalk will get ditched faster than a rented mule....and, as far as I know, when you upload pics through Tapatalk, you lose all access to the images and they become Tapatalk property.

Great picture!! I tried Tapatalk maybe a year ago. I can't remember why, but I uninstalled it fairly quickly. Either I didn't understand it, or it didn't understand me. LOL!!!

I like the fact i get notifications when someone posts in thread I have posted. Though Patrick's "what have you done to your pool today" has caused a lot of pings on my phone this last year[emoji3]

Tapatalk is difficult to deal with. They aren't in our good graces now. We have been testing different versions of mobile software to move to. But, the priority list ebbs and flows. I look forward to the day. I would use something besides tapatalk for pics. And anything else for that matter. :) Supporters should use the new and improved photo gallery in the toolbar, top of page.

You can set up notifications in your settings, upper right, in the forum software under subscriptions and notifications. And you can turn off notifications for specific threads.

When you say they are difficult to deal with, is from TFP perspective or end user perspective? I have zero allegiance to it - all about access to TFP on my phone since this is only forum for me. Just curious.
I guess what I am "hearing" is TFP has a relationship with them for guys and gals similar to me.

LOL!! There are software interface issues. They force us to do things we don't want to. And folks reading TFP on tapatalk can't see forum signatures and a lot of pool school.

Too funny. All for an in house solution...thinking about adding it to the pool math app?

Hmmmm....we did promise Lee he could see his family again...ah what the heck, we'll keep him chained up a little longer to work on that suggestion ....

Signature and pool school are an issue. Though I can see the signature by clicking on your user id - how is it you only have 22k posts in last 5 years...slacker.
Can you really see his signature? I still use Tapatalk whenever I am on my phone and that is the one thing that really annoys me about this is that I cannot see the full signature of any member. Additionally some of the hot links used on the website do not work in Tapatalk and it is a pretty big deal that no one on Tapatalk can go to a link or view pool school at all.

If we can't point a member to view the ABCs of pool chemistry article then it is going to be hard for many members to get help.

I too have no allegiance to Tapatalk, but it certainly still works better for me then the current mobile version of The Forum. However I think when we upgrade the Forum software that might change.

Not to mention their business model. In the past I have paid to have the pro version with no ads. And then they go and make it Obsolete and nonfunctional and force everyone into ads. Now I see that you can pay again to be ad free but what's to stop them from changing the versions again and showing everyone ads again.

Before I say anything I'd like to start off by giving a bit of thanks to PhotoBucket. There are SO many other options that likely would have worked SO much better, but this is the one you picked?? So many of the words I'm thinking cannot be said and those that can be said likely need to be added to TFP's "dirty word" filter.

Unfortuntally PhotoBucket's move at the last hour left forums with no abality to fix the problem in an ethical way. I do have some abality to edit many of these blocked photos and save them from PhotoBucket to TFP's servers thus restoring some of them however in my eyes without the users permission this is wrong. The content belongs to the user and it is up to the user to determin where they want to store it. That said, for users with content that has not yet been blocked by PhotoBucket, please contact me ASAP! I have controls that can save photo's shown in your posts on TFP's secure server in a matter of minutes. All I need from you is a link to some of the threads you have photo's in. I've noticed many threads on TFP have PhotoBucket links that are still live that I can save IF the user contacts me. I've been sending out some PM's to attempt to contact some of these users but as you can picture this path isn't ideal. What I'm hoping is that PhotoBucket will set aside it's greed and undo it's action. Their action can be undone on their end in a matter of a few minutes. If this occurs and you have blocked photo's that suddenly become unblocked please contact me and I'll assist you in moving them over to TFP. As mentioned though, this is only IF they undo their greed.

Onto the topic of a solution. Clearly the best way to avoid this from occurring again in the future is to upload your pool related photos to TFP. This way we're not relying on an outside company to make logical decisions. Beyond that I don't wanna give out a firm answer just yet because I'm unsure what's best.

So the question of "how many photo's can I upload" was asked. I'm gonna be very vague on this answer as I'm unsure of TFP's end path here. Right now a user can upload anywhere from 50-400 photos if they're a paid supporter to TFP's gallery. Non-Supporters currently do not have access to upload. This action was done to keep the costs to run the forum at a minimum and keep the forum Ad free. Non-Supporters can upload a very small amount of attachments that amounts to 2-3 photos. Again, this is set very low to keep costs low. That all said I'll be the first to admit the Photo Gallery has some major problems. The Photo Gallery runs very poor on mobile devices (mainly phones) and the plug-in developer hasn't really been helpful. This weekend I will once again reach out and attempt to get some support. If that fails I'll figure out a plan B.

Lastly is the topic of Tapatalk to host your photos. Tapatalk isn't exactly my best friend. They've made some changes to their plug-ins and it's that once were free are now paid features. The key difference however is that they're at least pretending to work with websites. I don't wanna say to use them as a replacement, but they're not harmful right now either. I've got some personal feelings on them as a business but I'll keep them to myself as they're feelings NOT actions.

Can you really see his signature?....
So I went to website and looked. I can only see part of pooldv signature and all of yours. Of course no links in signature. No formatting just text.
I00% agree not an avenue to help members with links. I think people post links differently because some I always see - kimkats and some I never see - pretty sure pooldv's.
Not really sure where Tapatalk has ads. I have never noticed...or I just have mentally blocked them out. I do not pay
