My neighbor told me they stopped using their lights since they attract a lot of bugs. He has a regular incandescent light. We are getting LED lights. Will I have bug problems as well?

LED lights seem to attract fewer bugs but they absolutely still attract bugs.

Ah, you're in my neck of the woods. It won't be a big deal. I just make sure to have the pump running to keep the skimming action going.

Where are you? Who was your builder?

Our builder was Vista Pro Landscape & Design out of Davidsonville.

It's more about the color of the light than the type of bulb. When I installed tri-color LED's in place of white incandescent, bugs started to arrive with passports and foreign accents as soon they saw white or blue. When I use red, I'll only get about 5% as many.

OK thanks - We are using Catalina pools. They have very mixed reviews on BBB but they were $13k cheaper than Anthony Sylvan.

We are getting 2 multicolor LED lights so I will play with color combinations and see what works best. A bug zapper is probably also a good idea. We are very high up with decent wind so we don't get a lot of bugs anyway.

The Dynatrap is not a zapper. It has light that attracts & fan that sucks bugs into a basket. Ours covers a 2 acre area. We are in a heavily wooded area & not one bite this summer. We have heard in the past the mosquitos are like B52 bombers. I was considering a screen covered pool. The $200 Dynatrap well worth it!
