Can't locate dedicated main drain valve

Hi All,

I am in my second year of owning a pool that is about 20 years old or so. It was built by Blue Haven Pools, according to the pool pump and I have a question about the main drain. I have been battling getting the dirt my Polaris can't pick up from the bottom of the pool and can't locate a valve that would allow me to isolate the main drain from the skimmers. I have (2) skimmers, but the inlet pipes that come from the pool apparently are from each skimmer. There is no other pipe coming in and the valve only allows me to turn off one skimmer or the other.

It seems there is no main drain valve. I seem to have to balance one of the skimmers with the drain, but can't shut off both skimmers at the same time. Can anyone give me a suggestion regarding how I may get my main drain to drain better? (If I sweep the silt or dirt towards the drain, I don't see any dirt going into the drain.)

Any help is much appreciated!

Guy

Under one of those skimmers there should be a second hole that leads to the main drain.

Beneath the skimmer basket there should be a diverter valve
