Liquidator Question

Could somebody please tell me that owns a working liquidator if the floats allow the water to enter and exit the tank horizontally or vertically down into the layer of chlorine down below. Also maybe where these floats are made or where the could be purchased for less than the 30 dollars they seem to be sold for. I seem to be able to find various 10 dollar floats on Amazon and locally that should work but so far am having a little difficulty dialing them in. Thank you.
 
The floats are in the pool water mix layer. They have a shroud around them, but it doesn't force the water below the bleach/water interface.

Your best bet for getting parts is to call Hasa and let them know what you need. All the parts of the LQ (Liquidator) have a lifetime warranty except the vessel. It's worth a call to them to see if they'll ship you the parts you need.
 
Take a look at the Liquidators manual. The drawing on page 8 will help you understand how it works. It depends on diffusion of the bottom layer of high concentration of chlorine into the upper layer if pool water. There is no mixing of the two layers. Also the the Liquidator Patent may be of some help . US Patent # 4,879,027

I just changed over from a Liquidator , to a Stenner set-up and I have a LOT of leftover un-needed parts. (everything except the vat) .

I have about 2 bags FULL of used and new - floats, one way check valves , tubing hose, adjustment valves , hook up clamps , etc etc etc .
I did use the Liquidator tank for my Stenner install , but everything else I removed (and spares) I have, if you want it . There at least 4 floats with the integrated tubing hook -up (one might have become brittle and cracked) . there is even a flow gauge , but I cant guarantee it doesn't leak (cant remember , as I don't use the flow guage) . Also , the one way flow check valves are in there ( 4 I think) which may help with some of your headaches on the home made system you are playing with .
You can have it ALL if you are interested .
This was all for a C201 8 gallon system, with the 3/8 upgrade parts.
Thinking $25. shipped for all of it. That will pay for shipping and a 6 pack pack out by the pool for me ! :p:D:cool: ................ Fair ?

I can snap some pics if you want to see what in the bags ...........or just go for the "mystery" bag special option ! It will be like a surprise ! lol .

Thanks Waterlogged but if I spend anymore $ I will be flogged by the Mrs. I will be following your post on the Stenner pump install, looks good so far and probably a lot less problematic than the Liquidator. We just replastered our pool with stonescapes mini pebble this spring and trying to keep costs down. Also noticed that no matter what adjustment is made on my homemade chlorine injector that it bleeds off overnight like you were saying and starts with a rush of air. So to combat this I have added a inlet trickle of city water from a garden hose all the time and this cures that and since I have to add almost an inch of water a day due to evaporation this is fine, and do not need to fill pool every other day. So for now this will have to work but next summer I may get that Stenner.

Hey no problem schatz .
Just figured it might come in handy for cheap, while trying to make the homemade liquidator set-up .

jgofnj , is second in line and wants it too, so I am sending it out to him this week. I want to get rid of all the liquidator stuff before I am tempted to use it again ! lol .

To be honest , after 3 years of running a liquidator , and now switching to a Stenner ..........there is really NO comparison. Should of just got a Stenner in the first place . The liquidator worked for me for 3 years, and at least I didnt have to manually add bleach to the pool daily. Was just a constant battle keeping it going and properly regulated. AT least I was able to re-use the liquidator tank/vat , so it wasn't a total waste !
The Stenner is in a completely different class than the liquidator. I would start saving now for it so you can switch next year . It really is that much better !

For now I have gotten my homemade Liquidator working decent with the hardware store floats,just had to make a baffle for the incoming float. It does appear that corrosion is going to be ongoing and float replacement every few months is gonna be a hassle,but 10 bucks for a float versus 30 some for a liquidator float is doable for now. And it appears like the outgoing float will need replaceing more often. And I found out why people dont just plumb it into the pump. It appears I can get suction there, but you need to get the pressure after the filter. I guess it needs some seperation between suction and pressure or it just loops through the pump and dosent really get introduced to the pool. That Stenner set up looks nice.
