Getting Started in DFW!

Finally got coping and tile done! Went fairly smooth with the exception of the spa. The gunite was 12" wide and with 12" coping not being able to hang over the ledge, they had to get a little creative with some cutting and actually got it to look great. Cost a bit on extra coping but lesson learned. I do have a question regarding one of my posted pics below. My deck guy was out today and will be pouring next week. He is going with a 4" thickness and is concerned with the gunite around the skimmers only allowing for about 2" of concrete in that area. His concern is cracking and he was wondering if he should knock the gunite down a couple inches. I assumed you just pour the concrete over and be done with it. Thoughts?

The time has arrived! After a long delay due to weeping, plaster is now going in. Started yesterday and coming back this morning to acid wash and start fill. Fortunate the rain stopped prior to plaster and will hold off until late this afternoon.

And....we're done! Cannot thank everyone enough for the help we received (and continue to receive!) on TFP. Made this journey so much easier, less stressful and a happy family. Here is the final product. Pics of the barn soon to follow.

Is your concrete a brushed finish with a color? It looks perfect with the clean lines!

Thanks! It's a brushed concrete but no color. The barn is all concrete and I was looking to match that.

Thanks! Could not have done it without TFP.

Great job! That turned out amazing. Completely transformed that space!

Thanks, Dock. And thanks for the input along the way.

Stunning! Congrats on the pool. I'm just getting started in Northlake. What color did you use, Midnight blue, Tahoe? May I ask who you used for landscaping??

We ended up going with the Micro Fusion Tahoe and it turned out great. Tanning ledge and spa is a grayer color and the pool has a nice blueish look we were wanting. As far as the landscaping, that was all my wife (she has a great eye and knows her plants pretty well). Let me know if you have any questions and good luck!

Absolutely stunning! It looks like it has always belonged there. What an idyllic setting! Kudos for the artistic camera shots. You're good! [emoji4]

Thanks! But I have to give credit to my wife for the camera shots. :D
