Retail Pool Hose 1-1/2" Replacement Cuff wont fit

Hey all,

I have a 1-1/2" pool hose from Lowes. "Aqua EZ" Brand, made in China. The hose was 36' long, I only needed it about 28', so I cut the remainder off and purchased a 1-1/2" replacement cuff from the pool store. No problem right? Well it was too big. The hose was too small for the cuff to thread on. The pool store owner said "It's probably a metric hose or something, I've never seen one that didn't fit".

Well the hose is Made in China.

My question is, does anyone know if there is a cuff that WILL fit the hose and where to get it? I contacted the Manufacture and they said they import the hose and it comes that way.

This is just a backwash hose right?

Take a piece with you from the other cut off one, and see if it will fit over 1 1/4". This may require buying a couple more fittings, but I would try that.

No, it's vaccume hose. I tried an 1-1/4 fitting, it's too small. I think the hose is either meteic, or maybe it's 1-1/2 OD instead of 1-1/2 ID.
