You should invest in one of the recommended test kits now and make sure you level the ground within 1" before install.

I'll echo that: First, order a proper test kit right now. It'll pay for itself with one trip not taken to the pool store. I use this one.
Second: stock up on Motrin and beer. You'll need it for site levelling.
