TDS measurements are not useful with swimming pools. Historically they were used as a proxy for CYA levels, before CYA testing became common. TDS measures total dissolved solids, when what you really need to know is which particular chemicals are present. Bleach is sometimes accused of increasing TDS, which is true but essentially irrelevant as all pool chemicals increase TDS.
