Here on the coastal mid Atlantic, May has been unusually cold. For the first time since our pool was built in early 2004, we haven’t been able to swim in May. The water temp is struggling to get much above 70 (today it’s 67).

Unfortunately, there’s still no break in sight for these much colder than normal temps.

Ugh!!! 😖

97°F today and the water is in the mid 80’s. I’d gladly send you a few thousand Giga-BTUs of heat energy because I have a feeling June is going to hit triple digits early on and it will be relentless until the mid-summer monsoons come our way 🥵🥵🥵

We might finally have an 80 degree day late next week!

Get one of these doohickeys.

And the funny part is we all shiver and cover up with towels because the relative humidity is like 2 and the evaporative cooling is intense … 🥶

That brings back memories of when we were kids living overseas in a much drier climate. During breaks at the community pool we would lay in the sun on the concrete to warm up. 😄

It's relatively cool here in the Carolinas now but once the humidity of July hits, we jump in the pool to dry off.

Still no break in the cool/cloudy weather, and the forecast for the week isn’t looking promising. Pool is 71. Low pressure systems just sit off the coast and won’t budge. The lack of sunny days is literally depressing.

This is nuts. In the almost 20 years we’ve had this pool this is the first time it’s been too cold to use for the entire month of May. At this rate, we may not be swimming in June as well. It’s not even nice enough weather to at least sit by the pool and enjoy the view (of the cold water!).

Y’all need to share some of that sunshine and heat!

There has been one benefit; FC demand is really low. 😁
