My bulbs went out after 2 years. This is the first time purchasing new ones. Can some recommend after market ones that they’ve have good success with?

You are better off not replacing the bulbs. For an outdoor pool, UV does just about the same thing with new bulbs as it does when old bulbs.

I have a pool with a UV bulb gone 2 years now. The new bulb is still in the shipping tube. Is there a difference in water quality ? definitely not.

For indoor pools the advice may be different as there's UV missing from the big picture.

Hey neighbor, don't bother with a new bulb. We get ample free UV from the sun here. Your FC demand may even go down since your UV system won't be depleting your FC.
