Is there any other way to test for cya that is a bit more exact? I love the kit and how precise all the other tests are via droplets/mixing, but I'm never fully confident on the little black dot test. Is it still there? Can I really see it any more? Is it "just" disappeared etc.

Sorry, this is the best CYA test that exists. The test is +/- 10ppm anyway, don't beat yourself up. Just round it up and you will be sure to have adequate FC in the water.
