Hi all I have the Hayward pool filter and would like some tips on cleaning and knowing when to clean, I also have the Penair chlorine dispenser and haven’t figured out how to use reading as much as I can meanwhile thanks all
You show to have a DE filter. If you backwash it then it needs to be refilled with 80% of the recommended DE capacity. This is not sand. The DE is a protective layer for the filter grids.Morning all I replaced the pressure gauge and it’s showing higher see below, can I back wash without adding sand as an interim
The picture you posted above shows a DE filter. It does not take sand.Morning all I replaced the pressure gauge and it’s showing higher see below, can I back wash without adding sand as an interim
So I’ve seen the videos online on cleaning the filters by stripping down and washing with a garden hose as one option or the other option is to back wash the filter both to what I understand need 2 lbs of DF sand added at the skimmer after rinsing the filter. Do both options clean the filter?
Also can I put the hose into the plants or will it be more than a couple of Home Depot buckets of waste
Your filter takes between 3 and 9 lbs of DE depending on what model it is.Are my calculations correct with 2 lbs of DF sand
Hi I’m not sure of the filter inside so will have to wait till I crack it openFind the filter manual on the net and it will give you the dimensions of the different models. Measure your filter and match it up to determine the model and thus the amount of DE needed.
They give outside dimensions. It is height that varies. Once you see it will be clear.Hi I’m not sure of the filter inside so will have to wait till I crack it open
