No/low chlorine with this cheap amazon/chinese SWG (Pomeade EC16)

Also, the wife read I should have the SWCG off right now... I'm looking and don't see that in the TFP SLAM page.

Yes/no/doesn't really matter with this much external chlorine being added?

I'm looking and don't see that in the TFP SLAM page.

Keep on reading the entire SLAM page. 8th paragraph under Additional Notes says:

If you have a salt water chlorine generator, chlorine tablet dispenser, injection pump, or Liquidator, turn it off for the duration of the SLAM process. SLAM by adding liquid chlorine only for best results.

Ok, 23 now... but the water is VERY clear.. probably clearest it's ever been.

Do I still top it back up to 31? Started at 4pm... so I'm short of 24 hours.

Please advise old wise ones. :)

*Edit, ok looks like I'm not supposed to experience any more loss... so I guess I need to keep pushing.

Keep the pool at SLAM FC level until you meet ALL 3 exit criteria.

It's good to run it at SLAM FC for a day or two after you pass the criteria.

For future reference- its safe to swim so long as all these things are true:
*Fc is anywhere between minimum & slam level for your cya
* ph is in the 7’s
* you can see the bottom of the deep end for swimmer safety

Ok, I didn't lose any chlorine overnight.

But today it went from 30 this morning to 20 just now (8+ hours... it's 5:20 here).

Am I done or do I need to bring it up and go some more?

I feel like I did.

No loss, pretty much no Chloromides, and no algae that I can see (water is pretty clear).
You want it to be crystal clear
How Clear is TFP Clear?
You want to be sure there’s no recurring algae dead or alive as well.
Along with less than 1 ppm fc loss overnight
&
0.5 or less cc’s

Ok still need help.

I'm losing chlorine again.

Yesterday morning I was in the 20's for FC and no CC's... I put on the SWCG on boost because some kids were coming swim. After 8 hours it turns down to it's max setting where I had it, and I left it running all night since they swam the majority of the day yesterday.

This morning It was like 12 and it ran on max (not boost) all day. No one swam.

Just got home and it's at 9. :(

I have no clue what to do at this point.

Are you certain you passed all 3 criteria to end slam ?at the same time?
If not, get back to it.
Then once you do, you can do an overnight chlorine gain test to see what your swcg is doing. But we must be certain you’re algae free first.
Ps- Boost is just max for a certain amount of time.

Can we reset again?

1) Did you complete the SLAM?
If yes, why are you trying to keep your FC so high? 1) No cell will be able to raise and maintain high chlorine level. 2) Those levels are above recommended levels for your CYA
If no, why are you trying to maintain SLAM level with SWCG...not recommended.

Explain in your words, what you are trying to do and why?
