new pool Petaluma Ca

Thks Lershac & tsunami.

I did get some special roofing caulk which I used, but I also put a row of nails, then covered the heads. I did'nt want to do the extra nailing but thought I may be sorry if I did'nt.

Well the nails will mostly be covered by the solar, and its not like you are storing precious items under there. I wouldnt have put the nails, but everybody does stuff diffferent, and everything usually turns out ok. I like your joist sleeves, did you fab those yourself? They look like they will be around longer than any of us!

I always tend to overdo things. Just thought once the panels were in place it would be hard to ever add anything. Now that I see this this built, I wish it did have walls... we'll see what evolves as I get more spare time.

Yea I designed the sleves, they were made in our machine shop, the 4" sq stainless tube was left over from a job we did for UC Berkley, as part of a science project studying neutrino's.

The panels went up today! Weather is going to be warm tomorrow so I hope to see a difference by the afternoon.

The pipe work was all the solar guy's, that why it looks so good! Water temp is 79.7 as of 9:00am when the solar switched on. Yesterday it shut off at 6:30pm, so I should have approx 9 1/2 hr of run time today, excited to see what that does for the temp. The pump is running at 2000 rpm, I'm not sure what that equates to in gallon per hr, does anyone? I looked in the manual and there is a graph but I did'nt understand it totally.

EDIT: Water temp at 82.6 as of 1:30 pm.

The solar is kicking a%%. Swam tonight for along time, water was 87.8 deg. I think this is about the max temp I want but I'll experiment a little.

Awsome man! I find the only thing wrong with warm water is that it makes it harder to get used to cooler temps. I like warm...not too much so however. About 80-82 on the low end for me.

A few other details. I know this will take at least another couple years to be "almost" done.

I'm adding 2ea) 1' x 12.5' panels to fill up the space at the end of the roof, always bothered me I didn't make it 2 feet longer, and I didn't know there were 1' panels until recently. Not sure when they will go up.

Most of the major additions are done, here are a few recent pics. The latest thing I did was build a cabinet for my stereo that has a linear actuator to open or close when I push the remote. It is water tight and theft proof. It does get pretty hot when it is closed but when it's open there is good ventilation. I think it needs something to keep the direct sun off it, I'm thinking of a double roof, covering the roof with wood, or a shade of some kind. There is a vent fan on top of the components so if I go the double roof I may add a hole to the inner one so heat can escape although this would allow bugs / water to possibly get in.

A few more pictures. Nice weather here for may 27th, cloudy with showers, at least we are about through with rain for the next 4 months although we sometimes can get a freak rain during that time.

Quick question: what is the tile choice you are using? I like the dark blue with the gray slate. Can't wait to see it all come together. You have a great Design.

What is your tile choice. I love the color and would like to know brand or product number. It's beautiful.
