Question regarding transformers and globrites: I am installing a total of 10 globrites (2 deep end, 2 on reef step, 2 shallow end (100 foot cord run per light), 1 spa (115ft cord run), and 3 in the LED bubblers), initially I bought 1 300w transformer, and 2 100w. Ideally, I want bubblers and spa to operate independently from main lights. Install manual says no more than 3 lights per 100w transformer, and no more than 100 total cord per transformer. How many transformers do I need? Many stores sell a two pack light kit with 2 100 run long cords and 1 transformer. Doesn’t fully compute. Pool store guys said I’d be good with what I bought.

@AQUA~HOLICS I read your post on backcutting the spillway. I’m thinking of doing two spillways. On on each side of the spa. Do you have a recommendation for spillway size?

Depends on the length of the spa face, size of tile and if the spillway is open or covered.

I’m on the fence of covered vs open..both have benefits. Spa face is 8 ft. Side from water line to spa face corner is 5 ft.

Open face spillways if walked on can be dangerous for kids.
Most customers go with 12” covered, you want to keep it in 3” increments so if you use 3” tiles on the spillway it will have a cleaner look.

What’s the max size to avoid running pump on high? Can I do an 18 and a 12?

Yes, you can run 18 inch on two spillways and keep the RPM at a reasonable speed. The photo with the triple spillways runs at 1800 RPM with a good distance on the spill.

I am the pool builder lol..thanks for the links. We are thinking either French grey or Tahoe blue…I kind of like tropics though but may need to modify tile. My pool has a tropical feel with the large ledge.
