Hi Pool Friends - I need to buy a new pump to replace an IntelliFlo VS-3050. Last year a pool guy told me (from what I recall) new pumps have a new size standard that requires different-sized fittings or tubes and that everything would need to be updated. Did I understand that correctly and does this sound accurate?
Before I make the investment, if this is the case, are there pump options that I can buy that will work with the existing hardware? Not really sure how to decipher the difference between all the options (trade grade, etc.), so it's a little overwhelming on what I need to buy. I don't want to get "pool stored", so coming here for good advice/direction.
I have a water feature plus a spa that waterfalls into the pool (25K gallons).
On a bit of a budget - any recommendations on replacements? Here's a few I found
- Pentair 011076 IntelliFlo3 VSF 3HP Pool Pump on eBay for $1400 and it's local
- Pentair EC-011057 IntelliFlo VS+SVRS 3HP $2119 at Leslie's
- VS-3050 (exact replacement) $2119 online
A new IntelliFlo3 (top one) from a pool store is less than the other two AND it seems like it's better/newer with wifi, so I obviously don't understand the differences.
Any help understanding the best replacement would be appreciated! Thank you!
