Not necessarily. Water in Houston gets more expensive after the first 10k gallons ( and really high at 20k or so). If the OP is on the same kind of accelerated billing it may be cheaper to do it a bit at a time.

... Or run the gutters from the house into the pool for every big rainstorm. It's amazing how much water that will push out over 60 days if you get good rain.
