broken bulkhead fitting

Hi all,

I have a Heldor Clearflo DE-24 filter(I don't think the company exists anymore) that's almost 30 years old. It was there when we bought the house 2 years back. I think because of the repeated push and pull of the backwash valve, the bulkhead fitting that connects the DE filter unit broke because of the weight imposed, shown in the picture below. I tried to search for the part (part # 194892) online but couldn't find it and came close to this one, http://www.poolpartsonline.com/p-52337-bulkhead-2-with-groove-194801-opt-4601-4801.aspx. The bulkhead connects the DE filter pipe in the 2nd pic. The other end connects to the top pipe in the 3rd pic. The price for this piece seems pretty ridiculous, also given that it may not even fit. Is there another alternative I could approach instead of buying this part? Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you

I think you got your money's worth out of that one and would spend the money for a new multi-port valve.

For that matter, I would get a new filter AND multiport at the same time......you'll never look back.
