What do I do now?

I just received my Taylor K-2006 pool test kit in the mail and have had fun getting my first readings. They are:

FC=2.5 ppm
CC=1.0 ppm
pH=7.1
TA=70 ppm
CYA=30 ppm
CH=160 ppm

The pool is a pretty blue but still can't see the bottom of the shallow end. Should I just do the Pool Math and add from there or should I SLAM? Sure want to swim by this weekend.

With cloudy water and high CC, you need to go through the SLAM Process ... better start quick

The SLAM process works best in darkness, so definitely! It really depends on your schedule and how much time you have available to monitor the FC level. Read through the process a few times.

How long will it take me to get the pH up? If I add the Borax calculated by Pool Math to get it up .1, how long do I wait to retest it to make sure it is at the right level?

7.1 is close enough. Don't delay fussing with the pH. Just get some bleach in there.

Also please help me understand the Chlorine/CYA chart? What does shock FC of 12 mean? Do I put that number in Pool Math target to know how much liquid chlorine to put in?

Yep, you got it! Under "Now" put 2.5 and under "Target" put 12.
