thoughts on new Jandy and Hayward SWGs?

Hayward has the Salt & Swim 3c and Jandy/Zodiac has the AquaPure Ei series. Both of these are fairly new priced considerably less than their previous models. Also replacement cells are way less as well.

I've always thought the prices on SWGs to be way overpriced. If Intex can sell a unit for $150, then you know the profit margins on these things are very high.

So are the new Jandy and Hayward models any good? Did they make a better product or just cut costs?

We have had several negative reports about the salt & swim. The Ei series seems more popular. Most owners are happy with their Ei, though some service techs have reported problems with leaks. Personally, I do not recommend getting either system. There are several much better reviewed models for only a little more, notably the CompuPool series of SWGs.
