new pool Petaluma Ca

There is still too much water coming through the one wall of the pool, They drilled some holes through to relieve it, but it still trickles out slowly. In 24 hrs my guess is approx 50 gal collects in the bottom. I guess the only thing to do is wait untill it stops seeping?

Hoping the weather is dry and the water table goes down is the least expensive and generally the slowest approach. If you are in more of a hurry you can dig dry wells and put in sump pumps to lower the water table more aggressively, but that costs more.

here are a few new pics. Leaking pool wall, autocover bracketsfor coping, path work.

The pb has a "static drain" installed under the pool, its one of the pipes from the bottom, and no water is coming up through it, so there is almost none under the pool. Approx where the holes are drilled is where the strata changed form sandy loam / sandy clay to hard packed clay / sandstone. I guess the water reaches this layer then flows toward the pool. The color of the clay is yellow.

I love to watch pool builds on this site. One word of caution: I hope that magnolia tree isn't planted too close to the pool! I have one in my backyard and in the summer it drops a huge amount of leaves every day! Mine is just far enough from the pool that the leaves don't go right in, but all we need is a very windy day and the leaves fill the pool. ~Patrice

It's about 30' away, prevailing winds blow down hill away from the pool, I'm sure I'll get a few but I don't think it will ever get big enough to hang over the pool deck. In my post from 8:19 this am, picture 001 you can just see it.

Just installed a 60' + french drain above the pool. As the trench was dug there was water seeping in immeadiatly, used "ez flow" french drain. My camera batt's were dead but I got a few shots as we were finishing. I think this will solve my problem but time will tell. Plaster is schd for next week again so I'm hoping! I'm pretty happy to at least have tried to alieviate the problem.

hee hee thats funny you planted a magnolia tree... around here they are so common they are a nuisance tree that are super-plentiful in the back woods. They sure make some beautiful flowers though. And the "hand grenade" thingys they throw off after flowering were sure useful when playing army as a kid.

I guess if I lived down there I would'nt have, must be pretty when they're blooming.

The drain is working, there is less water in the pool today and water flowing from the end of the pipe. One of the "weepers" is dry and the flow from the others is diminished, I think I'm getting close.

Saw these on sunday, here's a step I made from a piece of granite I found.
