A look back at my pool rebuild

That is a cool triple umbrella. Never seen one like that.

    Stain

Filled the pool with the same water we have used for the last sixteen years. Any good home test for metals? I really hate taking this to the pool store.

    Stain

This stain started two years ago when we started using an intex SWG. It started just below the water line and went down about a foot the first year. This is after another year. I have looked at everything about stains, but haven't seen one just like this. Without water in the pool, I can't...

    Opening Day at the Swamp!

Same thing happened to me. I drained all but a few inches because I had very high CYA and wanted to start over. It is a little bit wobbly when empty. It doesn't look nearly as bad as some of these inground pools that start out black.

    I must be missing something...or I have Wabbaseka's disease

You know, I think you are right. One time before we had cloudy water, and it was a filter issue. That time we replaced the sand. I know TFP says you don't have to replace the sand. We will have to take a look this weekend.

    I must be missing something...or I have Wabbaseka's disease

That is today's dust on the bottom. Barracuda is working now. I run the pump 24/7 due to dust situation. Barracuda at night, skim during the day when the dust is the worst. This is a farm. Fields and gravel roads all around. The sand filter is too small? It is three times the size of the...

    I must be missing something...or I have Wabbaseka's disease

On my way to work I pass through two little towns, Wabbaseka first, then Altheimer. I will leave you to figure out that LA (Lower Arkansas) joke. :D On to my problem. I have had small pools for twelve years. Mostly I have had no trouble. I have always used pucks. Reading on here for...

Anyone have any ideas of how to get Wasps out of my control panel?

No ideas except wasp spray. They are all on the nest at night. That might be helpful for you. They won't be attacking as bad as in the daytime whatever you decide to do.

New Member, First Build...What have we gotten into?

I,too, have been watching your build since you started. It will be truly beautiful when finished. I agree with Kim. Show these guys a picture of what you want. Hopefully, there is a true artist among these guys that can build an impressive fireplace if he just had a clear idea of what you...

    Intex longevity?

I wouldn't hesitate. I am on my second year of an 18 ft. Ultra Frame. I had an Easy Set for 8 years. The next Easy Set only lasted two. We really like the Ultra Frame. The Intex cartridge pumps and filters are woefully underpowered, but I hear good things about the sand filters. We added a...

    Pool Vacuum and Pump Problem

Shouldn't have any air. Sometimes my leaf canister causes air. I hear it but the lid and hose seem to be on tight. It goes away.. I have improved the pattern by taking out a length so hose or turning the hose where it plugs in. Never perfect, but close most of the time. I have to hand guide it...

    Sand Filters

I have one that looks exactly the same as the top one. Our conditions are pretty harsh. The filter has held up very well. The pumps have had to be replaced about every two years. The company I buy from has a one year guarantee on the pumps. We have gotten several on that guarantee. This year I...

    Pool Vacuum and Pump Problem

If you are getting air, put your finger over that hole. If everything works with your finger there and gets air when it is off, plug the hole. Lots of little weird things to do huh? Hope this helps. I love my ranger. It is out there cleaning now while I am in my chair.

    Pool Vacuum and Pump Problem

My fix. 2inch piece of plastic tubing from the farm supply store. Take the blue part with you. It is a tight fit. The way it looks connected. Small piece of garbage bag to plug the hole so it wouldn't suck air. Remember to fill the hose with the return.

    Pool Vacuum and Pump Problem

I have this cleaner. It is the best of the three I have had over the years. We have a short piece of tubing slightly smaller than the intex blue connector pushed in the connector. It allows us to hook the cleaner right up. I do have a 1 hp pump/sand filter. The other cleaners were iffy at...

    summer escapes quick set conversion

Hello john. We had an EasySet pool for 8 years. Our situation living on a corner in the country with gravel/dirt roads heavily traveled, plus putting the pool under a sycamore tree that was always shedding leaves, bark, seed balls plus white fuzzy worms made a more powerful filter situation a...

    1963 pool resurection

Interesting aside to this whole thread. Well, interesting to me anyway. I have always loved pools and swimmimg. This thread caught my eye because the pool in it reminds me so much of a motel pool I swam in for several summers in the early 1960's. My uncle owned an interest in the motel. Very...
