We have a cat 1 hurricane due to hit us tonight. We are out of town but my dog sitter can go do this for us. Predicting 8-12 inches of rain. We have a liner unground pool. I feel draining it down at least 1 to 1-1/2 feet as a preventive measure would be best. Will this do damage to the liner...

Thanks, I know we put in the correct sand #, but not the brand, bags have been thrown out and I don't remember. I am rinsing for over a minute, should it be longer? We replaced the entire lateral including the standpipe, it came as a complete unit. We did not put water in the filter...

We replaced our broken laterals, have new sand in the filter and installed a new pump and various lines that were cracked and leaking, about a month ago. We had been getting sand in the pool for several years, it got really bad so that's when we looked into the filter and discovered the broken...

No. I've been using the BBB method for 5 years. We just had a big pump problem and let the pool go for several months. CYA is not registering at all in the tube. Never gets cloudy . My chemicals are over two years old, possibly three but kept inside in a dark drawer.....could I have bad chems?

Thanks. Should I use just Borax, or would you use the super washing soda booster instead? Also how much of either??

UPDATE: Before we dug up the yard my husband insisted we purchase a different pump....a Hayward, primed in 30 seconds hooked up to our newly re sanded and new lateral installed filter.....good to go! The no name pump, even though is supposedly met all the specs we needed, was a piece of junk...

Here's the mess, (ignore the duct tape, that's just holding on some insulation needed this winter) at the moment the pump is next to the pool, as you will see in the last photo...nice huh.

Yes ran a temp line, it is a 30" rise from the pool level

Not a success! Just trying to see if skimmer lines were clogged and they are not... so that eliminates the problem of not priming from a clog in the line....back to air leak possibility

OK water flowing in and out of both skimmers using the Drain King

Sorry for the late response...been wracking our brain on this. We have eliminated that any problem is coming from the connections from the filter. We tested the new pump to make sure IT wasn't the problem by running a pipe from it directly into the pool, works perfectly, primed immediately...

Thanks for your help! Yes we checked for O ring, we also installed new laterals and changed sand in the filter. How do you mean "multiport shut off"? Lid is on the correct position. Yes everything worked.....before the old pump burned up.
