If I had 39F and none of my current problems...I'd feel the same as you. Tulsa is supposed to get milder weather than Yukon...so hope it stays that way for ya! Got the pool backwashing/draining now....nothing like closing a pool in 14F! And I drain to my yard...so free ice rink!

Turned on my backwash....and nothing came out....backwash pipe is frozen....removed it and unthawing in the shower!

Palms are plastic...and have made it thru much worse! Trying to upload a video now...

Outside air temp is 17F...and it won’t get higher than that for 6 more days.

Pool water temp is 30F...ice layer is up to 1 inch thick and that happened since yesterday after I removed all ice.

Does my picture of the ice layer on top of my pool scare anyone else? Or is that not too big of a worry since my pump and water is moving just fine...

After reading this post, Winterizing Warning!, I wonder if I'm good with leaving everything running and just covering and adding heat tape instead of draining.

The areas in the picture that are not frozen still show water moving from my pump. I still plan on draining stuff....but there's time if anyone wants to stop me after seeing my pic!

Mine froze yesterday and again this morn...not totally frozen, but enough to scare me into draining everything....Picture incoming!

And to confirm, if I do the above...does that mean I no longer need to cover my equipment with a tarp nor buy electric heat tape?

Thanks! We will definitely inquire about the EasyTouch. We got 3 gunite estimates, and they were all way more expensive for a lot less pool. Plus, this builder estimates a 3 week build time instead of 3 months.

I replaced the shaft seal and the o-rings and no more leaks...thanks everyone!

I already removed my seals...that pic above is of my actual seal. :) I'll ask for a PS-200 seal tomorrow at Leslie's then...it looks like some online kits were selling an AS-200 seal for this model pump?
