d,

Something does not smell right about the EasyTouch for $600. The only ET that you can buy for $600 does not have a load center for circuit breakers and does not have the built-in Salt system power supply.

It could just be how he priced it out, so it might not be an issue, but you need this set up... (No matter how he prices it out..) Pentair Easy Touch Control System 521150. EasyTouch 8SC-IC60 Control System. Pentair 521150.

He has to include the Electrical and plumbing hook up to include the EasyTouch and saltwater system... How could he not do this?

Thanks,

Jim R.

Jim, Jim, Jim... where were you when I needed you? Pre-TFP I made some decisions based on PB advice about my Pentair setup. Oh how I wish I had the 521150 you recommend. My stuff works for what I need, but I have an extra breaker box, the extra transformer box, and a controller that doesn't do everything I'd like it to do. I'm sure I spent just as much. :(

Trust TFP! And, unlike me, come here first before you buy!!

Have you gotten any gunite bids? Electrician could be another $5k and plumber could be a lot more depending on the run of gas line that you need ($3k-$5k). I would work to include these things in your initial contract. $7/foot for extra concrete is a pretty good price. You will most likely want more.

Dirk,

I always say when the EasyTouch has an "L" in the model it means a Lite version.. and just like with food, the Lite stuff never does taste just right... :p

Sorry....

I have the ET 4 and wish I had the ET 8.. I keep finding new stuff that I wish I had a relay to control... :(

Is there anything that you want your system to do that it won't do now?

Thanks for posting,

Jim R.

Thanks! We will definitely inquire about the EasyTouch. We got 3 gunite estimates, and they were all way more expensive for a lot less pool. Plus, this builder estimates a 3 week build time instead of 3 months.
