    Updated platform build

Thanks for the feedback. I'm mainly making it so I can have a sitting place in the pool, and maybe the dogs on occasion, lol... no littles to worry about. But those repurposed chlorine bottles are always a hit. I use them for my ladder. I may end up doing a bath mat on top of the platform, as...

    Updated platform build

Considering a platform build like this great one, but it will just be for lounging in the pool. I think I will try attaching suction cup bath mats to the bottom... hoping it will keep it stationary without having to add a weight. Anyone have any updated builds like this? Sooo ready for...

    AGP pump/filter system change-out

Oh man, I never considered the filter SIZE was a possible issue. That's just what it came with and I was just replacing same for same. And it's funny you share those articles, I read them yesterday AFTER I posted. Hindsight tells me I should have started there, but here we are. And I wouldn't...

    AGP pump/filter system change-out

Starting my search for a new pump and filter system. So I'm looking for some buyer feedback. Current pump still works (at least it did when I closed the pool last fall), but it's a single speed. I'm gonna go for the 2-speed, hopefully be a bit more energy efficient? And currently using the...

It all started with a lil hazy water...

LOL, right?! Made my head hurt trying to figure it out. So, just get it up to SLAM and see how it progresses?

It all started with a lil hazy water...

*Warning* You might grab a snack. This is a chaotic post, but I really would like some feedback. Please and Thank you. Pool has been increasingly hazy (now cloudy) since the weekend. SUNDAY-MONDAY: testing water seemed futile, as I had to order new R-0870 But went ahead and started adding a...

Above Ground Pool Help for a Rookie

Hi! Welcome to TFP! Do you mind giving some stats on your pool? size and gallon? pump and filter system? Those type of things will help all these great folks help you! Good job on getting that test kit coming, and yep, Leslie's is *not* your friend. The gunk in your pool light is eating up...

    New steps, new worries...

yeah, he's soooo over me and my pool already! lol Totally forgot abt the chlorine injections, thanks for the reminder. And pulling the steps is always part of the closing process... one less thing to clean when opening.;)

    New steps, new worries...

Upgraded my OG steps this season to these Confer steps... nothing wrong with the first ones, I just didn't like them. But, luckily, my friend can use them in her AGP, so it'll work great for her. SO, as I was unboxing and assembling the new steps, I realized I ordered the WRONG ones. 2...

    Any guesses on this crud??

First post of the season... but I'm here every day learning/lurking.I'm mid-opening and this will be my 3rd yr using the TFP method. I never seem to start out right, but get a clean, clear pool in the end. Today, in one of my sweeping sessions(3rd of the day), I noticed these clumps of muck...

Wonder why this hasn’t really caught on

I just watched this last night! Hubs is in the geo-thermal business... ;) It's ideal for people who might want a year-round pool in a climate that might otherwise prohibit. It's definitely a planned-out process and yes, your equipment needs to all be in this location-type scenario. Energy...

    Contruction Zone=dirty water

I have a silly ladybug auto-vac thing, silly heifer gets stuck at the ladder. And the manual vacuuming is really therapy for me, so I don't mind it. But yes, the construction is a new housing addition, so it will be on-going for the foreseeable future. Such is life... Clean cartridge filter...

    Contruction Zone=dirty water

I see. OK, will just stick with what I know! Thanks for the quick follow-up:) This is my 3rd year on a cartridge filter. I'm really on the fence to just get a new one now... It's working through the SLAM, but I don't know it's life span after this year? Any thoughts? Unfortunetley, I didn't get...

    Contruction Zone=dirty water

Hey Pool Kids! I've done a quick search of TFP regarding this, with no luck. So here I am! Got a slow-start at pool opening this year, but started SLAM 4 days ago, my 2nd year following the TFP method, and the process is going smoothly. And for a VERY impatient person, I'm following the rules...

    Pool Step weight ideas needed.

Just today, we zip-tied 2 (1-gallon) Sand-filled Jugs to the underside of our ladder. Filled them with wet sand, it’s just what we had, then sealed the lids on with e-6000 glue... it works so far! Might be a good temporary fix for ya...And it was a good way to use some of the chlorine jugs that...

    SLAM Day 6...

I see, not just entering a log from the Overview screen-->FC--> I have to do a "New Log for test results"... OK, I'll see what I can accomplish there.

    SLAM Day 6...

oy... I have teenage boys... and they were my first stop on the inquisitions. *as always* BUT. I just re-tested. FC--6.5 CC--.5 I'm just gonna chalk this up to a major FLUKE and never speak of it again o_O SO NOW, how do I log this so this the proper way?

    SLAM Day 6...

My aplogies for the multiple threads, thanks for the consolidation... on my app I can see all the logs I've entered regarding the chlrorine addition, can I do something different so that you can see the numbers better? Yes, my SLAM FC should be 12, that's what I've been trying to maintain. So...

    SLAM Day 6...

Very perplexed. Day 10 of SLAM, feel very proficient at testing my FC with my TF kit and speed-stir thingy. (love that thing!) Tested water this morning after a roaring thunderstorm came through, only minimal FC loss over night, app said to only add 1 Cup 5oz Chlorine. Did and logged @ 11:30am...

    SLAM Day 6...

Day 10 of slam! Just wanted to share some pics. Still tiniest but if stuff settling and then coming up during brush, I feel like it should be a bit more clear. One more good vacuum will hopefully take care of it...and then it’s on to the OCLT! Skimmer sock is doing great job with pollen and...
