Pros / Cons Microbrite vs Globrite

Is the Globrite still being manufactured? I have had terrible luck with the Globrite and just replaced all of them with microbrites after they all failed. I guess we'll see how long they last.

Transitioning from Pentair Globrite to Microbrite

Finally got around to replacing a failed intellibrite with a microbrite and pretty easy process with the niche adapter. But one issue. When my lights kick on, they are not synced. I manually sync them and they are fine until they go off again for the evening. I have them programmed to run...

Question if it's my globrite or easytouch panel going out

Thank you sir. Yes, I have 4 on one relay (pool) and 1 on the other relay (spa). 2 of the 4 on the pool relay are not acting up so it must be the globrites then. Sigh. Well, at least i've already purchased the adapters to the microbrites as it doesn't sound like there any any more reliable...

Question if it's my globrite or easytouch panel going out

In ground pool since 2014 and I've had my fair share of globrites go out on me so I'm used to how they behave. Lately I've had some that are acting like they are going out, then all of a sudden they are working again. Usually the seal will leak ,water will get inside and one of the LED's will...

Transitioning from Pentair Globrite to Microbrite

Searched around and found several threads about Globrite failures and I've had my fair share. So looking to transition into Microbrites if possible. Has anyone had luck with the niche adapter by pentair? And if so, do you have to replace them all at the same time, or can I just replace each...

Globrite & Mircobrite color swim/ fade tempo speed adjustment. Intellitouch 8 controller.

How did you change your globrite to microbrite? Did you have to break out the housing and re-plaster in a new one? I have 5 globrites and two are currently out. I've probably replaced 10 in the 8 years of pool ownership. Terrible design and product.

Issue with freeze protection not kicking on w/ EasyTouch

Ahh, gotcha. That makes sense now. Most of us pool owners in Texas still have some PTSD from the "snowpocalypse" a couple of years ago when we lost power for a week. Power went out in the middle of the night so I didn't get to drain the equipment fast enough. Mind you it was 7 degrees...

Issue with freeze protection not kicking on w/ EasyTouch

Thanks. Yes, I can find all that and all the circuits that should have freeze on do. I guess my question is how to I calibrate or adjust the temp probe when currently it's correct? I don't think it's going to be near 32 tonight so I won't be able to check it. I would assume I would need to...

Issue with freeze protection not kicking on w/ EasyTouch

Yes, I do. But the current temp displayed matches the current ambient temp of about 58.

Issue with freeze protection not kicking on w/ EasyTouch

Normally my freeze protection kicks on when the temp gets close to 35 degrees. We haven't had a freeze yet, but we've come close twice including last night. I noticed that the freeze protection wasn't kicking on and that my Pentair app was showing the ambient temp at 43 degrees when I knew it...

    Globrite LEDs replacement

I assumed it was proprietary. Mine are the black ones about 5 inches long that you insert then turn 1/4 turn to lock. When I search the model number, different varieties come up. I normally search for part number 602055 as that is the 100' variety. But on Pentair's website, it shows a...

    Globrite LEDs replacement

I've had to replace several of these. Shocker I know! These things have to be the most poorly designed pool light ever and Pentair should be embarrassed. And since the housing is embedded in the pool plaster, kind of hard to change. Never tried to use the old cord as a pull string. I've...

    Pentair Globrite Install Question

I'm using an Intermatic Model PX100. I opened up the J-box and confirmed all the connections were solid. Same issue. I have not tested the voltage. It's just odd the way that light is performing. I've had several Crud out on me and they behaved differently. But could just be a bad light.

    Pentair Globrite Install Question

6 year old pool with 5 globrite lights installed. I've had to replace every one so far and I think even one two times. I'm stuck with them. Anyways, installed a new one and everything seemed to be working fine. But now only after a month's time, the new one is out again. When I hit "sync"...

Replacing Globrite. Do I need to drain?

Thank you. It was relatively easy. I'm sure I'll have to do it again given the poor history of these lights. I have 5 of them and I think all 5 have failed. I might have one original that's still working.

Replacing Globrite. Do I need to drain?

I have to replace a Pentair Globrite (Shocker, I know!) but i was curious if I have to drain below the level of the light housing. I've had most of them repaired under warranty, but this one lasted through the warranty period so it's on me now. I recall watching the tech replace them and they...

I'm having to re-tile my pool. Questions about draining and why tile failed

Yeah, not sure either. Other than the fact the pool water is 45 degrees! I'm getting some other opinions as well as calling the tile manufacturers. I called Master Tile asking for some recommendations on what materials to use to set their product or installation instructions and they were...

I'm having to re-tile my pool. Questions about draining and why tile failed

I've read and searched and it seems there are differing opinions on glass tile installation. The tile that is falling off had a paper front with no mesh backing so I would think there would be more surface area to bond to the tile. MasterTile, which I think is a reputable brand, has a mesh...

I'm having to re-tile my pool. Questions about draining and why tile failed

My pool is about 4.5 years old and our glass tile is falling off around the spa. It happened once in a small area two years ago and we had that repaired. Now the entire spa is falling off. Top and the sides. The only tile that is staying on is the waterline and the back wall. It was a glass...

Adding Screen Logic ( 1? or 2?) to a 5-6 year old Easy Touch 8

So my protocol adapter is hard wired to my ET controller and I have had 4 adapters fail in the last 4 years. The last one seemed to have failed after a nearby lighting strike. But it was the only device that failed. It's out of warranty and Pentair won't help. So now I'm thinking I might try...
