    poor circulation

https://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/126876-Circulation-Modification Here is a little mod I did to help circulation (above link). It helped a TON. BUT at the end of the day I would follow the advise of all the experience offered here. My little AGP so easy to maintain it gets boring (not).

    Water is green

For what it's worth. I went through this last year. After having a long learning curve year I decided that this spring I was going to get the TF100 test kit and life would be simple. Well a series of unfortunate financial events kept that from happening so I went with the wallyworld $24 5 way...

    Intex 633T Power Switch

Thanks Jeffchap. That's exactly what I will do now that I am thinking about it more. I would like to run it more than once a day. The factory GFCI has already been removed and yes, being an electrician, the outlet is GFCI. I saw some portable outdoor timers cheap on Amazon. I'll check local...

    Intex 633T Power Switch

I just picked up the above mentioned filter pump (second hand) and the timer function doesn't seem to work. Has anyone had this happen and has anyone been successful replacing the power switch or timer? I have an electrical background and will be looking into it but thought I would reach out...

    AGP Base Material

Hi All. Looking for ideas for base material. Last year I used 1" foam board. It worked ok but was basically destroyed when we took the pool down. I figured it would be but.... This year I am thinking of 3/4" marine grade plywood with indoor/outdoor carpet on it. I want a somewhat portable base...

    Rookie mistake

So a neighbor of mine asked me some advice about his pool, same size as mine, because it was turning green and smelling like a pond. So I gather up all my tools and science that you guys have taught me and had his pool cleaned balanced and chlorinated correctly in about 2 hours. Feeling proud of...

    Circulation Modification

I used a vacum attachment that was not needed, drilled a hole in it, and attached a 1&1/2 inch 90 degree elbow using a slip fitting on the back side. I didn't glue anything so it can be diverted in any direction. Really really helps the water to circulate with the small pumps that come with...

    Solar cover

Thanks JVTrain. I did read some of those threads, they are very helpfull. Actually this entire site if very helpfull. I do run the filter pump with the cover on. I actually modified the input port to direct the flow better. I used a vacum attachment to afix a PVC 90 so I can direct the water...

    Solar cover

We just got this solar cover yesterday, had it on the pool all day today. When I got home and checked the water the top six inches was hot like a hot tub. To me it seems to work much better than just the the ones that are just blue. The bubble side is black and it seems together a ton of heat...

    CYA Question

Thanks JVTrain. Thats where I read the sock method. Does the sock keep it from clouding the water? I am really aprehensive about putting it in my pool after the premix I did in a bucket. My logic tells me it will cloud the water but I am super new at this and learning every day.

    CYA Question

I need to get my CYA up a little and was going to use some granular stuff from wallyword but.... I tried premixing a little in a bucket prior to putting in the pool and ended up with "milk" with lots of sediment in the bottom. I did not put it in the pool because that stuff doesn't seem like it...

    Bromine VS Clorine

Yes. Total Dissolved Solids was the name for it and yes my thinking is/was old school. I like the wind reference. LOL I too am super happy I found this forum. So much great information. I will be getting the TF-100 very soon. My "pool money" is a bit depleted right now but from what I am...

    Bromine VS Clorine

I came to the same conclusion after reading through some posts. Thanks for the opinion/advice. My though patern came from owning a hot tub a few years back. It was small and when my "suspended solids", can't remember the exact term, went too high I would just drain it. Now with 6000 gal. of...

    Bromine VS Clorine

New, to us, pool. I have been under the impression Bromine is the way to go but I am reading that most of you use clorine. Opinions?
